Life : The semi-independent and dependent stage.

Source

At a point in our life, wr all feel semi independent and at another point we feel so independent. All these stages of life comes with different emotions and feelings but with its own responsibilities too, which requires careful management and strategy to sail through. By semi independent here, I mean , not depending on someone or your parents for everything , especially on your planning, decisions and financial management. But somehow somehow they still assist you, and you only decide how to manage what comes in .

In my case, my first semi independent stage came when I had admission to the university, when I left the house, I left with some food items and money for upkeep / pocket money. They assisted me, but it was left for me to manage what I was given. The feelings and the emotions was different, I felt somehow like a big boy or a grown up man and I could decide what to use my money for , I started learning how to manage , save for rainy days in case the cash expected dose not come on time. In sum, it was a new phase of life with much lessons to be learnt about life and in preparation for the future which will now usher me into the independent stage.

After my schooling, the level of financial support dropped , but a little upkeep money was still coming in till I left for service. First few months the my service year, the support kept coming at intervals till when I was done with my National Service. After my service year, I had done some savings as the result of the lesson the semi independent stage taught me. So the savings helped me start up as a full independent human being. When it was really clear that it was an independent stage was when every form of pocket money from the family stoped coming in . But then I had started a little work with my friend we started earning, although the first pay was lower than the allowance we use to get during our service year, but we jus had to start something. We started we were paid and it was yet another sweet feelings , although the pay was not much , but it taught us how to plan, manage save and still sorted out our bills . Indeed these two phase / stages in life came with their own different feelings and emotions.
