It's nice that you stopped to help. Yes, most people do not stop and that is also because of the feeling of insecurity. There are lot of crimes happening with setting up these kind of conditions, so no one wants to take a risk. But sometimes looking at the situation and the person you can identify that it's genuine help needed.

You are right that its imprtant to be sure if this is genuine or not, as there are many scams. Before stopping, I looked around, and since it was an open place, there was nothing much to worry about. Thanks for your comment.
