The Day a Free Train Ride Felt Like Luxury

Oh my! I almost screamed when I saw the prompt for this week, so I'm just gonna jump on it even though I didn't think it through, that's because I have my favourite already. Although, I'd like to say here that my favourite is subject to change since I'm yet to have an experience with sea or water and air transportation, I'll have them.

But as at now, I've experienced all kinds of land transportation if I'm correct, I've been on a bus, a mini bus, bike, a car, a tricycle, a train and even a trunk lol. So yeah, my favourite mode of transportation is heavily conditioned because I've only ever traveled by land all my life, far or near.

What is my favourite mode of transport?

Train!!!
I still can not forget my first day at the train station, which is where I got that photo above from. It was my first time and I was so blessed to share my first time with a good friend of mine, we both took lots of pictures to mark that day and somehow, only this photo and one other survived from that day lol. We paid for our tickets, boarded the train and we went, the sound of excitement!

Mind you, I love to ride in cars for the fact that I could see people when I travel but I've not had as much memorable moments in car rides as I've had in train. Too bad, I'm not sure when I'll be on a train again. But yeah, it's my favourite so far.

Why do I like it?

Everything about it, actually!
But if I'm being more specific and be less bias to other mode of land transportation I've used, I especially love how similar the train feels like to a plane. Mind you, I've never been on a plane before but the first feeling I got when I entered the train was, I feel like I'm boarding a plane. It was a dejavu of what I've never experienced lol. And I also like how comfortable and fast it is.

Most of the times I boarded the train, I'm always sitting next to the window. Even though I rarely see humans or animals lol, since the railways are always in bushy locations, I enjoyed just watching how vast the world is as I'm travelling.

A memorable travel experience.

I would say it was my first time boarding the train but my mind always remembers one experience faster than any other I've had in all my train journeys. That was on a day I decided to visit home and I got so lucky to board the train for free. The Government was doing something free and they didn't take payment from us that day, it was like a dream until I got to my destination lol.

The most memorable part of that journey was, I was allowed into the VIP carriage and I got to have close seats next to big men and armies with guns. 😂 I know it may sound very materialistic but I felt so good, important and excited about that journey than I could remember I'd ever been.
