Growing Through Singleness, Choosing Love on Purpose

If I got this prompt to respond to some months back, I'd have said I would choose to stay single and that's not because of bad past relationship experiences. I don't think they were bad, I just think they served their purposes in my life and we all moved on to the next. I'd have chose to be single because it felt like the best choice for me.

But I've learned better and I am still learning so my response can't be that I would choose to be single. Even though that's not my choice, I must say it's a great privilege to stay single because it is that period you have all the time to yourself, making decisions on your own, finding yourself and I mean, your own identity that you improve.

I've been single for quite long enough to understand what I've been taking for granted as a single lady, I wish I had what I have now since I've been single. It would have been a different experience for me as I would be more focus on loving myself, finding my flaws to caution and my values to strengthen but at least, I know better.

With what I know and still learning into, being in a healthy relationship is what I want instead of being single. I know there are no perfect relationship on earth, not even when the couples involved try to be as intentional as possible. There's always bound to be misunderstandings, hurt and even worse cases but it's still worth it.

I say this because I've learned a valuable lesson recently about life, we all need people to live as people on earth. No, it doesn't have to be relationship between a guy and a girl but where this relationship comes in is in being wise with who you share your inner thoughts with, we are not to share intimate thoughts with just anyone.

So we need someone even more closer to do that with and that's where "someone to do life with" comes in. A life of companionship, love and inner peace with someone who is grateful to be in that journey with you. Now, I do imagine myself in a relationship that would bring me all these and try to become the best fit for one who wants it too.

I love it when two agrees, I love it when two work together, I love it when things are made easier because both have same goals, I love it when there is peace even in a disagreement and I love it when there are fruits from the work done by two because they planned and worked together, I love a romantic and growing family built in God.

So if I have the choice, I would choose to be in a relationship than staying single. From what I've shared, I'm not going into a relationship because I'm lonely and I'm not tired of singleness to rush into just any relationship so I can live in what I really desire. But yes, I'll choose a relationship.
