Have you ever looked at a child standing on the road and begging for food? If you have, then next time try to observe them closely and understand what they are actually going through.

Today, my father came back home and brought a dollhouse for my niece. It looked quite expensive, so I asked him how much it cost. He told me it was worth 1200 rupees, which is a lot.
Honestly, I was not very happy about it because my niece is only two years old, and I personally feel that it is not right to give children everything they want at such a young age.

While telling me about the purchase, my father also shared a story. When he was returning home with the dollhouse, he stopped at a traffic signal.
A young girl who was begging came up to him and asked if he could give that dollhouse to her. She was ready to pay 20 rupees for it, which was all the money she had earned so far.
Just imagine how differently dreams and desires exist for different people. That poor girl was willing to give her entire earnings of 20 rupees for that dollhouse, while my niece, who does not even understand the value of money yet, is getting it for free.

I know that my family and I are educated and financially stable, and we do have the right to spend our money the way we want.
But still, I feel that sometimes we should pause, reflect deeply, and ask ourselves whether we are spending more than what is actually necessary.
If the answer is yes, then maybe it is time to rethink where and how we spend our money.

I am not against giving toys to children. I am only against fulfilling every single wish without teaching them value and limits.
Sometimes, a very small incident that we do not even witness ourselves can teach us a powerful life lesson. In my case, this story shared by my father made me realize the real value of 20 rupees.
For me, 20 rupees may not seem like much because I earn money and easily spend 100 rupees daily on snacks and small things.

But for that little girl, those 20 rupees meant everything. She was ready to give it all away just to hold her dream dollhouse.
Think about whether you are truly spending your money at the right place, and do share your thoughts with me.
