Hive: Home Away From Home.

Huhm, what a thought-provoking one this is. And to be honest with you, when I first joined this wonderful and amazing platform, I joined because, one, I love to write and secondly because I needed a place where my voice can be heard.

Back then when I joined I wasn't his healthy, I was having serious health issues, and I've disconnected from a lot of places including my social media handles. Even the writing that I used to enjoy seems far from me. But along the line, I got to know about hive and I was glad I found a place like this where I could simply be myself.

I won't want to refer to a certain day or a certain post, because I've had countless times and numerous post here that I wrote maybe when life wasn't going as planned, or when I'm having health issues or when I'm just too bothered about something, I've written about such countless times, and I didn't post them because I'm so sure anyone would take their time to read it through, but because I just want to release the weight on my chest.

I remember a time I posted about my health and how certain things ain't convenient to do for me anymore like I used too, I posted it at night, engaged on few post and just went to sleep. The following morning when I came online, I was amazed at the thoughtful, kind and encouraging comments I saw, even from people I've never met or engaged with before.

I was touched, I was still new year as at then and it felt kind of strange. I didn't feel comfortable talking about it before, but those kind words helped me release myself totally and I began to share various things on here. I mean things I've never discussed with even those I see on a daily basis, things those that are even close to me physically do not know I'm going through.

The love, care and the spirit of community on here is different. Hive to me goes beyond just a platform, hive to me is real people, kind people, selfless people and loving people. Hive made me feel seen, valued, celebrated and all. And I have been sharing a lot of my thoughts, struggles, stories and a lot more on here while growing quietly as well.

And yes, I know and agree that there are a lot of platforms, but you will also agree with me that not every platform out there gives you that real sense of belonging. On hive you see strangers supporting you, encouraging you, you get to know fellow writers as well and become friends and like that you build amazing connections...

So, I know you would have been able to decipher the various things keeping me on here.....the spirit of hive. The community, the connections, the growth and the chance to be a light or a saviour in someone else's day, just like someone/some people was for me.

Hive to me is a second home, or let's just say hive is ...."home away from home."
