Lessons I learned from emergency fund

Greetings everyone, I'm glad to participate in this IndiaUnited weekly prompt.

In this life we can't do without money because it is money that crowns every plan we have. That's the reason people are finding money by all means, and some people don't care about the consequences. I'm not disputing the fact that money is a good thing, but we must find it in a legal way.

Some people are just finding this money to oppress another person or to spend lavishly in the club. That's what most guys want. But the truth is that most of them are not thinking that anything can happen to them anytime. They don’t even have the thought of having an emergency fund; all they believe in is spending lavishly.

I remember some years back when I was young. At that time I was making a lot of money, and there was a girl I was seeing. I loved this girl so much, but because I had not been making money at that time, I didn’t have the opportunity to approach her. But when I started making money, I had the boldness to approach her and show my feelings for her. I can’t forget the reply she gave me that day. She asked me how much I had to spend on her, and I replied that I could spend all my savings on her and she agreed to date me.

Five months later, my mom got sick and the hospital was requesting a sum of money to treat her. All my siblings were looking up to me to provide the money because they knew about the business I was running. But the funniest part is that I had spent all my savings on love, and I didn’t have anything in my bank account again because I used to impress this girl with money. I didn’t know how to tell my family that I didn’t have money because I knew they would question me about where all the money I had been making went.

Before we knew it, the sickness was getting serious, and all my siblings told me to help them out because our mother must not die. Well, to cut the story short, I tried all my possible best to get the money by all means, and when my mother was healed, I was seriously broke. One day I saw a message pop up on my phone when I checked, it was this girl texting me. She said she wanted to break up with me, that she was not ready for a relationship. I told her, “With all the money I have spent on you?” and she replied that she was sorry.

I was angry that day. Since then, I have learned a lesson: you should always save money for emergencies because anything can happen at any time.

Thanks for reading.
