A Poor Boy's Companion

It's not been very long I started really using digital tools. I was not really exposed to gadgets, not to talk of having easy access to them. This generation are really lucky.

But then, I became a digital migrant. When the time came, I had to get myself acquainted with some tech tools, especially when I started the University.

I have many useful apps on my phone. But one app that has been my favorite over the years is Opera mini.

I got my first phone when I started the university. It was Nokia 110. That was the first phone I bought with my money, and I was lucky because it was one of the trending phone brands at the time. I didn't come from a rich home, It took me months to save 7000 Naira to get that phone. My brother advised me to buy it because I would need it to do my assignments and term papers. He had suffered during his sophomore year in school due to lack of phone or laptop.

So, before I joined him in school I started saving money to get a good phone. Opera mini was one of the pre installed apps in the phone.

That phone saved me a lot of time and money, and even embarrassments. I only tried to ensure that I had data. I used that phone till I graduated from the University. Opera mini is one app I relied heavily on. I used it to surf the net for answers to my assignments, term paper questions, and I even used it for my research paper, and project.

First, the app is simple in its design and interface, and very easy to use. My favourite part of the app is the save for offline feature. I utilized it a lot. I saved very valuable information there in case I needed to retrieve them when I ran out of browsing data. It was more like the most useful app for me at the time, besides Facebook.I'm sure it's the reason why I am still fond of the app till today.

Moreso, I love the fact that there's free 50MB browsing data you can use daily on Opera mini. I cant tell you how many times it has saved my day, especially when I didn't have browsing data, or my data ran out just when I needed an information urgently. Opera mini has been a life saver on many occasions.

Even today, I still find Opera mini very useful and important for me. When I lost my phone and got a new one, Opera mini was among the first apps I downloaded and installed. Now, It has many more useful features. There is the News Update and LiveScore section displayed on the interface. A quick glance can give me just what I wanted. Opera mini is my companion.

There are many other browser apps on my phone, but I and Opera mini got history. The only app that helped a poor boy throughout school, and even after school.
