Good day everyone. Thanks for reading my last post.
Today was an ordinary day but it felt really special. I went to church then I went home nothing big happened I just felt happy inside. I talked to my friend Athena who lives in Indonesia for a while. We were on the phone for five hours. Even though I do not usually talk a lot the time went by really fast.
When I was talking to Athena I realized that it is really rare to have a friend like Athena. A friend who you can talk to without being scared without worrying that Athena will tell your secrets. It is a feeling to have a friend like Athena. We talked about things and we remembered some good times we had together with Athena. These things may seem small they mean a lot to me.
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a friend like Athena. Some people have been hurt by friends they trusted. It can be very painful when a friend hurts you and it can be hard to trust people. Sometimes it is hard to forgive it takes a time to heal.
That is why I think it is really important to understand the people around us. Each of my friends is special in their way. Some friends are good to have when you want to have fun. Some friends are better to have around when you need help with everyday things. Then there are friends, like Athena, who listen to you and help you when you need it.
Always be mindful that once we share our secrets with others, we can’t control what will happen next. Always assume that your friends are humans who can make mistakes and betray you. We should always seal our mouths about things we promised not to share with others. Don’t ruin the trust and the friendship. If you think your friend cannot be trusted with even a small secret, then don’t share it; that way, you can keep them as your friend forever. Based on my experience, that is very effective to do.
No friendship is perfect it is great to have friends who care about you. When you find a friend who makes you feel safe and heard you should hold on to them. Because it is not always easy to find someone who will take care of your heart my friend Athena is one of them and I feel lucky to have Athena.
