I don't know for others but as for me, I remembered my first earnings or let me say my first savings vividly because it wasn’t about the amount I received, but the value I placed on it. My first experience with money happened when I was staying with my grandma, I was still a kid then about ten or eleven. It wasn’t much though, but it meant everything to me back then.

As a kid, my grandma would give me small amounts of pocket money when going to school, It was usually just a few coins or a note when my uncles and my aunties came around. But instead of spending it on toys or candy like most kids my age then, I decided to save every penny I got. I kept the money in a small tin box under my bed, carefully stashing it away. At that time, money felt so much more valuable than it does now. Each coin, no matter how small, was precious, and I was proud of how my savings grew over time even though I don't know how much I had saved.
As time passed, and I continued saving. I didn’t really have a specific goal in mind then, but I liked the idea of having something for myself. Eventually, the time came for me to graduate from primary school, and they choose a group clothes for us all the graduant and Instead of asking my parents or anyone else for money, I decided to use my savings. I counted every penny, bought my graduation clothes, and felt an incredible sense of accomplishment.
When I showed my grandma the clothes, she was surprised. She hadn’t realized that I had saved so much money. She was also proud that I had done it all on my own. It wasn’t just about the clothes, it was about the hard work I had put into saving, and the satisfaction of using my own money for something important.
That moment really stuck with me. My first earnings taught me a lot about the value of money, patience, and the rewards of saving. It showed me that even small amounts, if saved over time, can add up to something meaningful. Now, whenever I look back on that time, I feel proud of what I accomplished, even as a kid. It was a simple but powerful lesson that has stayed with me throughout my life.
Thank for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
It's amazing that as a kid, you knew how to save. Most kids would have spent them on candies.
