A Fresh Start: New Year Resolutions

I always feel beginning of a new year as a blank page, full of hope and second chances, thinking what I can't do the previous year can be possible this year. To me, new year is not about just a change in the calendar, it always represents a fresh start after a year of disappointment, struggle, and deep reflection. Last year did not turn out the way I planned, so many promises and fail, so much disappointment. I failed to find work, and spending months at home without a steady income was emotionally and mentally exhausting, at some point, I stop searching for job and just waste my time watching movies and playing games because my mind was clouded with "what if". However, as the new year begins, I am choosing not to carry only regret forward, but also lessons, strength, and renewed determination.

I started new year with one main resolutions and that is to find stable work and regain my independence because I have children to take care of and one income from hubby is not enough . Being unemployed taught me how important work is and it's not just for income, but for self-worth, purpose, and confidence. Sitting at home day after day made me feel stuck, frustrated, and sometimes hopeless, waiting for the man to give me money before I can do anything. There were moments when self-doubt crept in, making me question my abilities and my future. But instead of letting those feelings defeat me, I am using them as motivation to push harder this year.

This new year, I plan to be more disciplined and focused in my job search. Since I don't have anyone to support me to start my business again, I want to improve my skills, update my resume, apply consistently, and remain open to learning new things, if one does not work, another will. I have realized that success does not always come immediately, and failure does not mean the end, it means I need a better strategy, more patience, and stronger belief in myself. I am determined to stop waiting for opportunities and start actively creating them, maybe starting from somewhere

And another most important resolution to make everything work is to improve my mindset, a positive mindset bring forth a positive result. Last year taught me how damaging negativity and comparison can be. This year, I want to focus on progress rather than perfection. Even small steps learning a new skill, attending interviews, or gaining experience are steps forward. I want to be kinder to myself and understand that everyone’s journey is different. I want to change my financial situation and also my overall life and belief me, finding a stable work is the first step to achieve that. It will restore my confidence, bring structure to my days, and give me a sense of purpose again. More importantly, it will remind me that perseverance matters. I want to look back at this year and say that I didn’t give up, even when things were difficult.

There are so many thoughts on my mind as I step into this new year, there is hope, fear, determination, and faith. I know the road ahead may not be easy, but I am ready to face it with courage and resilience. This year is about growth, effort, and believing that better days are ahead. No matter how many times I fall, I will keep getting back up. This new year is my chance to start again and this time, I am determined to make it count, and I want you all to wish me well
