My Honest Take On AI: Tool vs Threat

source

I’ve been meaning to talk about this for a while now, especially with how fast AI is growing and becoming part of our everyday lives. So, here’s my honest take on it. I don’t use AI a lot, but I won’t pretend like it’s not useful. It is. But like everything in life, it depends on how and why you’re using it.

For me, AI is just a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s not a friend, not a threat, not something to depend on blindly. I personally use AI mainly for research purposes. Sometimes when I need to understand something better or when I want to get ideas around a topic I don’t know much about, I ask it a few things. But that’s really it.

I do my own thinking myself, I don’t use it to speak for me or create my voice. That’s something I still believe should come from the heart. There’s something special about writing your own thoughts, with your own mistakes, your own flow. I want my words to sound like me.

AI can save time, and give you structured responses and even helps when you're stuck. But it also kills creativity if you depend on it too much.

To be honest, one thing I fear is how people are starting to lose the value of thinking for themselves. AI can’t replace your original ideas or your experiences. It can only repeat and remix what’s already been put out there. So if we stop thinking and start depending fully on it, what are we really doing?

Also, there's the issue of AI knowing too much. It stores data, it observes behavior, and who knows how it could be used tomorrow. That’s why I keep my usage to the barest minimum. I don’t let it into my space too much. If I need facts, summaries, or some fresh ideas to kickstart my research, fine. But anything deeper than that, I’d rather rely on my own thoughts.

Some days I even forget AI exists. I’m not someone who rushes to it for every little thing. I prefer taking my time, making mistakes and learning through trial and error. That way, I feel more connected to whatever I’m working on.

So in the end, AI is useful, no doubt about that. But I treat it like a calculator. It helps, but it doesn’t think for me. It’s just a tool in the toolbox. Not the master of it.

Let’s not allow it to take away our own voice or creativity. That’s one thing AI can’t fake, your truth.

Thanks for reading.

AI is my personal assistant when it comes to anything. It helps me think wide to somethings I dont even know my brain can do. Well in as much as it helps, it's really not too good to be dependent on it.
