Money is an important part of life because without money, it is almost impossible to afford even basic things today.

During my recent visit to one of the biggest medical facilities in India, I realized how fast life moves.

I saw many people standing in long lines, waiting for their turn to meet a doctor. I am talking about Fortis Hospital in India, which I visited recently.

While I was there, I observed how much medical treatment and technology have changed over the past few years.

I remember how things were 4 years ago, and today there is a huge difference.

Now there are treatments related to cancer where a patient is given a specific injection 27 times, and with this treatment, a person has a strong chance of being cured.

However, the reality is that this injection is extremely expensive. A single injection costs 2.5 lakh Indian rupees, which is an amount many people cannot even earn in an entire year, especially those from the middle class.

The reality of India is that it has one of the highest populations in the world, and around 80-90% of people earn less than 3 to 4 lakh rupees in a year.

Even if we consider someone earning around 20 lakh rupees annually, affording such treatment is still very difficult. This clearly shows that such medical treatment is meant only for the elite class.

When each injection costs 2.5 lakh rupees, the total cost of the injections alone comes to around 70 to 80 lakh rupees.

This means a person needs close to 1 crore rupees just to complete the treatment. This makes it impossible for people from lower class, middle class, or even higher middle class families to afford it.

This made me think deeply about why such treatments are not made available to common people. We already pay taxes. We already give 10-40% of our income to the government.

Yet, when it comes to advanced medical care, we are forced to go to private hospitals where the charges are so high that most people simply cannot afford them.

Why are these facilities not available in government hospitals? Why can this treatment not be made accessible to everyone?

I hope that one day, not only in my country but across the world, people will be able to receive proper medical care without the burden of huge costs.

I hope a day comes when no life is lost simply because someone could not afford the treatment they needed.
