The Same Question, Many Times — And the Lesson Behind It
Assalamu Alaikum,
The curiosity kids have is way more compared to ours because they are new to this world exploring the things for the first time.
When we were small and studying, our teacher use to tell us a story of a boy who got fed up with his father when the father got old and started asking the same question again and again.
There was a crow sitting on the wall and the father asked his son about the bird twice and the son replied, that it is a crow.
When the father asked the same question for the third time, the son got fed up and got angry on her dad for asking the same thing thrice.
Next to that boy sitting a man who saw this boy in his childhood and he smiled and also got emotional while he told something to that boy.
The old man told him that when the boy was small, he asked the same thing to his dad 19 times and dad replied happily that it was a crow.
At that time I did not felt what this story was all about or maybe now I feel more about it as I am myself a mother and I am raising a child.
Our kids ask us the same thing again and again so many times but we never get fed up. In fact we like their innocence and curiosity.
I was wondering by keeping myself in that old man place where the son got angry for asking the same thing thrice.
Now I feel why it might be heart breaking for the parent as when our kids are small we treat them with love and we always try to stay calm.
Something which the kids are unable to do once they grow up. I think I will recite this story to my son when he is grown up enough.
The best I can do is to deliver him the best of morals so that he will be one of the good humans in this world some day.
