I was sitting one day observing the kids of this era, how they actually, you know, how they just grab things very quickly.

I will tell something about my son. A few days back, my husband was singing a song, and he just sang it two to three times.

Later, after two days, I could hear my son singing the first two lines of that song, and I was shocked about where he learned this from.

I sat with him and asked him, “Son, where did you learn it from?” He smiled and said that he learned it from his father.

Then I asked him how his father taught him the song, because it was a romantic song and something I knew he would never teach my son at this age.

My son told me that while his dad was working on the laptop, he was singing the song, and he just heard it, and that is why he was singing it.

This tells us how children are quick learners and quick graspers, and why it is very important for us to make sure that we do not do something that is not relevant or appropriate for children.

That is why a lot of people and psychologists recommend the separation of kids’ bedrooms from parents after a particular age, because if they see something inappropriate for them, it can create very bad interpretations in a child’s mind.

So, it is better not to do something in front of your kid that is inappropriate for his or her age, be it using a smartphone, using a certain language, or anything else. Just make sure that you take care around kids.

The other day, I was also observing kids when a few of my relatives came to my home, and their kids were singing a song that was actually not a good song.

I asked them where they learned it from, and again the answer was YouTube. Kids today have very easy access to smartphones, and YouTube is just a touch away.

You just have to click on YouTube and the shorts start running on your feed. You can go on and on for hours because parents are not bothered to look at what their children are watching.

Unless the kids make noise or create chaos, parents are not worried. Because parents are busy, children are busy with reels and short videos, and parents are okay with it.

But as a parent, it is your responsibility to make sure that your kids are not learning something bad.

Even if you are giving them smart devices, make sure to filter the content they are watching so that it does not have a bad impact on their minds.

As I said in the initial part of the blog, children are quick learners and quick graspers. While this is a good thing, making sure that they learn the right things is a responsibility of parents.

That is what I request everyone here to do for their kids, and I will try my level best to do the same for my son as well.
