Nameste friend's. I'm happy to participate in another interesting #iucontest this week. We love summer because it is usually a time for outdoor activities, especially visiting the beaches and traveling for tourism. As much as we love summer, we all know that it is usually a sunny and hot period, and if proper plans and care are not put into consideration, we can become sick or break down.
The following are things I do to stay cool ahealthy during the heat.
ā I always make plans ahead for a variety of fruit juice, which is stored in the freezer, and this can last for months. This is my way of managing the heat period and at the same time taking in healthy fruits and vitamins that my body needs to stay healthy during the heat period.
ā I also make sure to stay hydrated by drinking lots of water, preferably slightly chilled. This helps to cool me from the inside and helps remove toxins from my system through urines.
ā Also, I try my best to put on clothes made with lace or chiffon. This is because lace material has multiple holes, which breeze can pass through into our skin to keep us cool. Chiffon is also a light material best for summer clothings because they have a natural way of keeping us cool and relaxed.
ā I also have a handy scalf in my bag that helps reduce the impact of the sun on my head. I tie the scalf on my head and around my neck to protect it from sunlight.
ā Lastly, my sunglasses are another good companion during the heat period. When I step out and it's very sunny, I quickly reach out for my sunglasses and use them to prevent direct sunlight to my eyes which will affect my whole body system, making me hot and sweaty.
Listed above are some of the things I do to keep myself cool against the hot weather. I have friends who visit during summer because they know they will get a naturally made iced drink from me. I make a lot of them and preserve them in my freezer, as seen in the second picture. I usually make pineapple juice, beetroot juice, watermelon juice, tigernut drinks, and hibiscus flower drinks.
You could also try this method of making natural juice. It helps reduce intake of carbonated drinks and sugary drinks.
