I’m honestly the kind of person who can’t stand heat at all. I don’t know how some people manage it, but for me, it’s just too much. Anytime the weather gets too hot, I start getting uncomfortable, and worst of all, I begin to experience skin irritations—sometimes even rashes. It makes me so uneasy, and it’s one of the reasons I dread the hot season.
Now, one of the biggest problems we usually face during hot periods in my area is electricity. Light is not always stable, and in my house, it’s even worse. Sometimes, the heat will be so intense, and there won’t be any power. There have been days when we literally had to beg the power officials in our area just to give us light, so we could put on the ceiling fan and feel some relief.
Electricity is very important during the hot season because without it, you’re left to suffer. That’s why sometimes I take it upon myself to go and buy petrol to power the generator, just so we can put on the fan and cool the house a little. But let’s be real—petrol is not cheap these days. It’s very expensive, and not everyone can afford to do that regularly.
When the heat gets unbearable and there’s no light or petrol, I just go shirtless. Sometimes, I even open all the doors and windows just to allow fresh air to circulate. If it’s cooler outside, I go out and just sit there to catch some breeze. It’s not always convenient, but it helps a bit.
At night, during those hot seasons, I prefer to sleep without clothes or at least with very light clothing. It makes a big difference. I’ve noticed that if I wear anything too thick or tight, I end up sweating through the night and waking up super uncomfortable.
In our house, another thing we do is use hand fans. Everybody just grabs one and starts fanning themselves, especially in the afternoons, or when we are trying to sleep. But even that can be stressful. After a while, your hand starts to hurt, and it becomes tiring.
Right now, thankfully, we’re not in that heat period, so I’m really enjoying the coolness. But when it does come back, I already know that the best solution is having a solar system or at least steady electricity. That way, you don’t have to suffer too much or spend so much money trying to stay cool.

You're not alone in this. Lack of electricity makes everything worse.
As for myself, I always leave my windows open
The weather is actually more cool at the moment so i don't even open my windows
You have spoken well sir, the heat becomes too unbearable sometimes that one can even contemplate sleeping indoors, and NEPA , electricity provider doesn't help matters because of frequent power outages
They are the best solution especially during the heat period but then it is what is. We just have to keep managing because i don't see things changing anytime soon.
I don't either
