Some piece of advice for newbies

Two days ago was my 4th Hive birthday, and that means I have been here more than four years. The time is not so huge, but it’s not so little to ignore. There is no doubt that I have gone through ups and downs, faced many difficulties, and overcome those. That’s why I am still here and sharing my thoughts continuously with you. I have experience and learn many things with time. If I share those, there is nothing to lose for me, but it may help newbies to make their journey smooth.

Nobody needs a degree to give advice. When it comes to giving advice, everyone becomes a master of it. It seems like humans are born with the talent of giving advice to anyone in any case. And the IndiaUnited community contest asked about advice for new users. Since it is giving me the stage to advise, I am going to take full advantage of it.

The Hive platform is a place to make friends, and the journey will be boring if you can’t make friends here. If you imagine everyone will come to you to be your friend, you are wrong. By the way, don’t think Hive users are not friendly. The fact is, if you don’t communicate first, how will they know about your existence? So, you should take the first initiative to be friendly with anyone. So, first select some target users whose thoughts match with yours. By reading some posts, you will understand if their thoughts match yours. Be consistent in reading their post and leaving comments on their post related to the topic they discuss. Let them know of your existence through comments. I am talking about engagement. You need to be active and consistent when it comes to engagement. You can set a goal to make 10/20 comments. I recommend at least one post every three days. It’s because if any users visit your profile, it will help them to understand that you are an active person.

Learning is a continuous process, and it says to never stop learning. There are many things that are hard to understand. You should have the mentality to learn continuously because it’s hard to understand everything here overnight. The more curious you are, the faster you will learn. In the case of posting, you may have many things to improve. When you read others posts, you should notice how they write posts. I mean their writing style, which may help you find your own writing style, as everyone has their own unique style for writing, as thoughts of us are unique.

You should not be a judge, and you should not feel jealous here; otherwise, you will hinder your growth here. I know Begging Time is struggling, and you are not the only one facing those challenges. You may feel jealous when you see someone getting better rewards compared to you, and such a thing can make anyone envious. You may think your post quality is better than the person who got more rewards than you. Such a mentality will demotivate you and put you in a complex situation because it will drain your motivation faster. And don’t think you are a judge here because it will make things toxic here.

I know that everyone comes here for a reward, but at the beginning, I suggest you focus on growth. Try to increase your Hive Power as much as possible because that’s the thing that will help you to make others understand your thoughts. I mean, if you don’t have Hive Power, you won’t have enough Resource Credit for posting, commenting, replying, and following others. Moreover, if you have more HP, it allows you to get more curation rewards through upvotes. You should focus on long-term benefits, and it will help you to stay motivated for a long time.

At the beginning, getting the attention of whales is not so easy, and so I think participating in community contests can be a good thing. Moreover, contests will give you a topic to write about, and finding a good topic to write about is not an easy thing. Many users don’t find suitable topics to write about.

Hehe, I think I can give much more advice as I won’t feel tired giving advice to others. But I don’t want to make you feel bored. So, I am going to stop here today. If you want to hear more, you can ask me. I am ok to share more if you are interested. That’s all for today.

If you think that I violated any rules of this platform or my word hurting you or I made any mistakes here , let me inform about it through comments or my other social network . I will try to correct it if I made any mistakes.

Honestly you just said it all my dear. Looking at big votes in other people's post will definitely make you feel envy about everything in the platform. The best is trying to grow in the system.

I really appreciate your advice and you deserve a glass of wine.🍷🍷🍷🍷.

When we become envious we focus on others rather than improving ourselves. That thing becomes an obstacle to our growth. We need to think about everything from a broader perspective.
Thank you for your time and for appreciating my efforts.
