I don't know where you'll be when you read this, but I hope you've become someone I would be proud to meet.

Congratulations if life has been going as it's supposed to. You likely achieved some of the things that you found hard to do at the time and today, but with a job that will help you reach other goals. Perhaps you've been toying with the idea of a business that you've been dreaming of creating? Perhaps your stock portfolio is steadily increasing in value. Perhaps you are still writing, you're still learning, you are still creating your life, you're still working on it, you're still making it meaningful.
However, if things have not gone as planned, then I hope that you haven't confused delay with defeat.
How many times have you had to bend a bit, or take a different path in life?
Many times your most significant opportunities were wrapped up in disappointment.
Don't forget that.
I also hope you have guarded what is easy to lose when you're after success: Your Character.
I know you are very ambitious.
There is always another project, another idea, another objective to work on.
Ambition is a wonderful thing but it can't come at the expense of those that believed in you before success.
I hope you've been making more time for your family.
I hope you laughed more!
I hope you've been there for those who cheer you on when your goals are met or when things don't work out.
Money is important.
You've never said otherwise.
But I hope that you've learned that wealth is more than money in the bank.
The true rich man is the man that has tranquility when the telephone does not ring.
It's having people to call whom you don't have to worry if they only love the successful version of you.
It is getting up with eagerness to what you are doing.
Speaking of work...
Hope you didn't ever cease learning.
Because technology will continue to evolve, Business will continue to evolve, Things will continue to change in this world.
Stay curious because the minute you think you know as much as you need to, you start learning less than you need.
Avoid becoming so absorbed in the hustle and bustle that you lose sight of friends & family, and always Keep in mind the lesson you learned this year: BUSY does not equal PROGRESS..
You should have a sense of pride in your accomplishments, but not an obsession and then Learn to embrace failure, but do not let failure determine you.
Keep your humility and integrity.
Reflect your sense of wonder and above all, I hope you continue to create something that extends beyond you!
Businesses can fail.
Markets can crash.
Trends come and go.
However, the impact you make in people's lives, the people you help and the values you leave behind will never be less important than temporary success.
Last but not least.. if you're reading this and it's not the way you'd like things to be...
Well then, Take a deep breath.
You have endured challenging times in the past, this one will be okay, too!
Simply do not stand still!
One more step.
One more lesson.
One more attempt.
That's how all the good journeys have been created.
Until next year,
The part of you that hasn't yet given up on the chapters you haven't written yet.

STOPWhat a meaningful letter. It encourages not only your future self but anyone reading it. The closing lines about taking one more step, learning one more lesson and making one more attempt were especially motivating.
