Surviving the AI Wave: Will Your Job Exist in 10 Years?

Dear Hive Friend and Indiaunited Members,

On the age of technology we have been witnessing a lot of new development happening around us. The things which were imagination in past are reality now days, for example the technology shown in Star War movie was pure imagination of writer and Directors but is inspiration for many technology enthusiastic. The harsh part is the with the development in technology the requirements of manpower is also decreasing which became the area of concern for many of us. Recently the IT market has become very volatile, I know some of my friends currently working with big IT firms fear of loosing the job, and when asked the reason, mostly blame the AI. The AI one side become the booming sector of IT and on other side also become the reason of recession. I should also mentioned that many of them, how feared of loosing job that also not upgraded them selves as per the change in the technology. The use of AI in daily office job has become mandatory in many companies as it shows how much you have adopted to the new technology. Do you think the introduction of the machine in cloth manufacturing was able to eliminate the hand sewing of clothes? They now become the luxury as the machine work is good for mass manufacturer but if you need the cloths as per your dimensions and fitment you have to visit the tailor shop. We humans always looking for the easy way and want to technology so that we can get free time for ourselves but do you think this is what happening? With introduction of new technology we even become more busy just look around you and think of it. I think we divert form our main topics so let's get back to main topic which is - Will My Job Exist in 10 Years?

My immediate answer will be yes. I am a engineer and to be precise a mechanical engineer and form past 16 years I am working in mechanical design section in different organizations. If have survived for past 16 years I will be able to survive for another 10 year for sure. My job profile is such that you need the human intervention, actually AI may be help us the improve the design but I am not expecting or seen any AI software generating the 3D model s and mechanical design. Yes of course AI can help in analyzing the different load and environment conditions or may be suggest the suitable design philosophy but still the human only will take the decisions and finalize the design based on the requirements and specifications. Many people are talking of AI and their side effects in the industry but I guess we should talk a out how we can adopt and make use of it in our day to day office work.
