Jio IPO applied and waiting for allotment

Investing in the market is a game of patience, and it is also unpredictable, as we do not know how the asset is going to perform. For example, I'm going to talk about the GOIP listing on the stock exchange, which was done today. I have already talked about it: I applied for the IPO, and I'm glad to share that I got one allotment. A total of 12 shares were allotted to me, and today is the date when the exchange listing has been done for the stock. It was listed with a gain of 20%, and since I had no long-term plan for the stock, I sold it all the moment it was listed.

Now I don't care about the market price and all. What I'm happy about is that I was able to book some profit, roughly 20%, in a matter of a couple of days. Obviously, there will be some correction in the price, I believe, because correction is highly anticipated, but this might take some time. Let's see how much time it will take, and obviously nobody can predict that.

Before selling the stock, I also had a discussion with my friends, and they also had the same thought: they are going to sell it after the listing. Now, when I see the price, it has gone beyond the price at which I sold my holding, but it's okay because it's a market, and the price will either go up or down. That's the nature of any market.

Most of my friends who invested in the IPO, and whoever got the allocation, have sold it. But I believe that Geo is a bigger company in terms of the overall portfolio, so it is going to grow. I'm also anticipating that this will have some correction, and that is when I have planned to buy back. It has just been one day, and on the first day, the share had performed really well, which is a good sign. Maybe there are so many new investors who want to own the share of Geo company, and it is listed as Geo Platforms with this name in the market.
