Winning a Million Dollars: What Happens Next?

I read someone's post here, on this topic. The person mentioned that there are things you wake up to which could make you faint, and this is one of those which could make a person faint at the instant of realisation, then recover later and confirm it's actually real. This could be literal with many people. It could also be figurative, indicating a level of surprise, unbelief, and overwhelming emotions. How many people on earth wouldn't feel so?

For the major portion of humans, they would feel so. Financial stability has been the dream of many as poverty, lack and want have ravaged many lives. Those who wouldn't flinch in the event of that are the well-to-do who don't see this as a big deal. Yet, not saying many of them would refuse the offer. That's how much financial success, gain and stability mean to virtually everyone. But back to me, how would I feel if I won 1 million dollars tomorrow?

As I read, I tried to be certain if the amount of money is in my native currency. But no, it's dollars we're talking about here. That would be more money in my native currency than it is in dollars already. I mean, I would be excited. It would seem unbelievable too, because you don't just win that every day. There would be a level of positive emotions involved. Of course, I would be happy. After that, comes the conversation on what to do.

I would invest and ensure the growth of that money. Also, how it would be used to make an impact and solve problems that involve finance. A huge portion of it would go to investment. Landed properties would be a significant step. Land doesn't depreciate, but appreciates as time goes by. It would be one of the best and safest ways to invest that money. There's agriculture also, which has proven to be relevant and profitable through time.

That would involve crops and livestock. I could also invest in the digital economy. I would set up one or two businesses too. In all these, I would seek advice from those knowledgeable in investment and financial management to avoid mismanagement. I won't shy away from saving a portion of the money, not really that huge. Say maybe within 5-10% of the money, which would be more in my native currency. Of course, I would also spend some of the money.

This isn't about spending on fun, pleasures and the sort. There are certain needs, personally and for family that I would use it for. On my part as a digital skills enthusiast, there are gadgets I need, which this would surely cater for. The people around me whom I could reach out to and help, I would do some of that, with the hope that when the investments and businesses are well established and profitable, I would do more charity and impactful service.

Well, hope I do win such money one day. Haha.
