Joining Hive is one of the wonderful things I've done. Kudos to the efforts of my friends who saw the need and persisted I joined, though I couldn't at first instance they presented the blockchain to me. Due to some situations beyond my control, I couldn't fully embrace the opportunity then. With time, I became part of this wonderful blockchain. I must say it's been a good ride, not lacking some hitches too, which I guess in a way that's what this prompt addresses, through our experiences.

Being part of this blockchain had enormous benefits. Stating the good from Hive is a list of things I can't fail to mention. Wonderful benefits and good come from Hive, on a personal note and even from the testimonies of Hivers. The reward, translating into financial gain is a great one to start with. Hive is good in this respect, in the sense that the very things users would post on Hive, outside on perhaps Web2 platforms wouldn't get half of what Hive rewards, and possibly within the time interval.
That remains a great motivation to many on the blockchain. It isn't just about the rewards, it also means that their efforts; which could be deemed unprofessional and unworthy to earn from on other platforms, Hive says otherwise. It rewards from learning to mastery. This takes me to the next point. One of the good things about Hive is the opportunity for growth it allows and encourages. I was involved in writing, not largely, but coming into Hive and writing consistently, while also reading the works of other writers helped me grow and improve.
Many have attested how they grew in their crafts, skills and talents while displaying them and engaging here on Hive. But it doesn't stop there. One would think Hive is this serious space where you just post, and at best, engagement is the closest thing you would have to anything connection. But no. Hive fosters connections and friendships. I mean, you get connected to someone in a distant part of the world that wouldn't happen normally. Even with those from the same part of the world, you get connected to people you never knew. That just feels good.

Having such good doesn't rid the blockchain of one or two bad. It's sad, but that's it, considering the weight of the good even. One thing to mention is the low rewards. I think that discourages Hivers in a way. For some, they end up leaving, while others tend to put low efforts to their posts since they expend much energy, time, thoughts and reasoning into the posts, yet they get little to nothing. Some do Hive alongside their work, so creating time to post on Hive means sacrifice and effort, which comes amid tiredness sometimes.
Also, I feel not much is being said or done concerning the possibility of scams and the like. The best was that Hivers should secure their keys and never share them with anyone. That itself is very good. Sadly, some fell victim to that lately. The blockchain can do more to put measures against this, because after the recent incident, the scammer was still going around, even after being exposed. Then, there are inappropriate downvotes. Sometimes, this is used as a tool against some Hivers, inappropriately which ruins the beauty of the blockchain.
