Getting Someone to Join Hive

As a newbie who was informed especially about the basics of Hive before coming on board, I find this discourse important. It adds up to part of the reason I'm still here on the blockchain. My onboarder made sure I knew what I was coming into, the basic knowledge at least. The rest I did figure out myself through surfing around and engaging on the blockchain, something he did tell me I would need to do to know more and grow.

Everyone was once a newbie. It's the reality of life. We can't attain mastery without first becoming a novice. I remember well my days as a newbie, learning and navigating my way on the blockchain. So then, if a person came to me, asking why they should join Hive, what would I say to them? Well, I'll say what I've probably said to the few people I was able to inform about Hive, added to what I learnt from my onboarder.

I know the rewards and earnings seem like a big bait to lure them in. But I didn't do that nor will I be doing that as the first approach to why they should join Hive. It would be first about what the blockchain is; as a decentralised web3 platform that offers creators and more the opportunity to own everything about their account with no interference or management from an external system as opposed to the centralised system of web2.

They would know their data is in their control, likewise, all that pertains to their account. I consider this will be a good building block to the next thing they should know; Hive offers a space for every form of skill and creativity they could think of. They would know that Hive allows for a variety of content, which should have something they like, are interested in or good at. When my onboarder mentioned some of the content you can make on Hive, I was surprised.

Here then comes the part where they would know that their efforts in making whatever content they wish to won't go unnoticed and unrewarded. The difference between this and the web2 platforms will be made clear to them; from engagements, meaningful and uplifting comments they would get, to the earnings that come along also. However, I would advise them not to make this their greatest motivation because the rewards sometimes fail to come.

What more would make them want to come on board? The connections and opportunity to interact easily with people far and wide, from different and distant parts of the world, and even those in their own part of the world whom they won't have ever come across. It's one of the things I've enjoyed about this blockchain. It wasn't something I really saw, but I found myself enjoying it. I would surely let them know this beautiful part of Hive.

These should be enough to convince their curious mind to join the blockchain, which comes at a free price. I surely won't be omitting that part. Along with that, I'll cap it up with the no plagiarism and no AI regulations of the blockchain. This is where most people get disappointed, but I can't give all the interesting information meant to convince and leave out this essential part of the blockchain. But over all that, I'll assure them to be a guide to start their journey and grow on Hive.

This is my response to the IndiaUnited Contest.
