Download and Configure Ubuntu 26.04 for installation on VMware Fusion.

Hello friends, in the previous tutorial, we already learned how to download and install VMware Fusion on Mac, and today we will learn how to download and install Ubuntu 26.04 on VMware Fusion.

Download Ubuntu

To download Ubuntu, visit the official website https://ubuntu.comand here click on Download Ubuntu. After that, click on Download Ubuntu Desktop

It will open the Downloads page. Here, select ARM 64-bit architecture because Apple systems support ARM 64-bit architecture. It's 3.9Gb to download. After clicking the download, within a few seconds, the download will start.

Configuration of Ubuntu for installation on VMware Fusion

Open VMware Fusion and the Downloads folder, and drag and drop the Ubuntu iso image file into VMware Fusion.

Now, select the ISO image file and click Continue.

Here, click on Customize Settings to increase or decrease RAM, etc.

Here, in Save As: you can rename the virtual machines as you want, you can also change the store location for the virtual machine from Where:, then click Save.

To customize the RAM, click on Processor & Memory.

Here, you can customize the Processors and RAM Memory according to your requirements. It will use your host system RAM, so it completely depends on how much capacity you have on your Mac system, and then close it.

For the Disk size customization, click on the disk icon, then click on Hard Disk (NVMe) Settings.....

Here, you can increase or decrease RAM Memory for your Ubuntu virtual machine. Here, it will also use your host system storage, so it completely depends on how much capacity you have on your Mac system, and then click Apply. After that, close it.
