Music Excellence By Country: Opinions and Considerations

(edited)

Music is universal, it's beautiful, wonderful, captivating, and highly dynamic. It's diverse, yet a certain kind of it can be peculiar or perhaps common among a people. You talk of western music style and the variations in it, then you go to the cultural and modern African music, and the other native forms of other parts of the world, certainly there are variations to music and the styles, though a universal language that it is.

At a glance of the prompt, I would say that I somewhat jumped to what could be seen as perhaps a biased conclusion on the discourse. “Of course, my country”, such was the conclusion, and yes I could be right, or not. Much like almost everyone here, that would be the response I guess. Could it be some form of patriotism or support for this music and artistes?
Maybe. One other thing I find is that this could be so because that's the only bunch of songs we often listen to.

My music playlist is mainly filled with music from my country's origin. I've listened and I still listen to music from other countries, but then the ratio would be largely apart. And then I thought, if I were a Jamaican, nothing would make me say my reggae country style isn't the best music on the face of the earth.

However, don't get it wrong, I could still be tempted in some way to say we do the best music. Considering how global the songs go and the huge acceptance from the world outside, it's indeed making waves, highly suggestive to be considered as the best. Again the idea about this could be subjective, limited and possibly biased.

Putting these thoughts in place, I recalled a music video I watched, where I listened to the song as well. It's from one of the renowned gospel music ministers we have here in my country. It was a beautiful idea he incorporated, a unique one. It featured the same song being sung from different parts of the world, all reiterating the same message, however sung in their various native languages and with a touch of their music.

That made me realise that, I could possibly enjoy their music too. I began to somehow see the beauty of their music as well, and appreciate it. Again, it could mainly be that we've been accustomed to what we've been listening to, so it's definitely what sounds the best for us. And maybe, a sense of patriotism and support as well, as earlier mentioned.

Music should be sound, edifying, spreading life and sharing a good message to all who listen. This way, every style, every country can make good and the best possible music. Anything shy of all of that shouldn't even be considered about which country does the best music. Nevertheless, if it were a matter of a ‘must choice’, I'll helplessly fall to my country's wonderful music-the rhythms, beats, and some good message.

I am for the country's music too. I listen to other genres but I'm more fond of the kind of music we have in Nigeria

Music is if am to say is the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to us or let me say me in particular because whenever I listen to music, it helps drown my mind of any obstruction or worry giving me a serene mind. And of cause we produce the best music ever and I say this because I have seen, read and heard what Nigeria musics are doing globally and accepted with both hands.
