INTRODUCING THE ALIENTO PROJECT

---

“Aliento” is a Spanish word that means “breath” or “encouragement” when translated to English language. In the context of the Aliento Project on Hive, “aliento” refers to the act of “encouraging someone to do the right thing or to keep going.”

The Aliento project was founded by @eddiespino and his beloved wife @grisvisa in March 2018 with the aim of helping Spanish speaking communities.

In 2020, it started operating on Hive as a curation, education, support and motivation project. By this time, the project broadened its reach to help the world-wide community, including the English-speaking communities on Hive.

With the timely support of @theycallmedan and @threespeak, the aliento project grew to support more communities, and has been involved with more projects on Hive. This necessitated the addition of other team members who assist in the moderation, curation, development, design and progress of the project.

AIM OF ALIENTO PROJECT

The primary aim of the aliento project is to assist digital creators on Hive, support them, motivate them, help them navigate the blockchain and give them vital recommendations to help solve their doubts.

The project also supports initiatives, contests and events that seek to promote the adoption of Hive and its decentralized applications. It assists in developing more applications and tools that add value to Hive, and promotes its worldwide adoption.

ALIENTO AS HIVE WITNESS

---

Aliento Project also runs a witness node on Hive; in other words, the aliento project is a Hive Witness.

Hive Witnesses operate the consensus nodes on Hive, and ensure that the blockchain works properly. They also make consensus decisions for the future development on Hive, as we saw in the previous Hard Fork.

Every Hive account can vote for 30 witnesses; hence it is important that they make the right vote as those witnesses who go higher in the ranking will play a critical role in making decisions on the future of the chain.

AFRI-TUNES ENCOURAGES SUPPORT FOR ALIENTO WITNESS

The aliento project is not a community, but a project that works alongside various Hispanic and English-speaking communities on Hive. The Afri-tunes Community is privileged to be supported by the Aliento project, and the impact of this support is felt as more Afri-tunes artists are encouraged to give in their best at every entry they make.

We wish to “encourage” our community members to support the aliento project by voting for it as witness. We hope our little support will help the aliento project go higher in the witness ranking.
