Today, I want to talk about another second generation kpop group, Beast. Now, this group changed their group name to "Hightlight". From the second generation kpop group, I think this group is the most name- changed group in kpop history. Actually, before naming the group as Beast, this group is also called B2ST. This group changed the name of the group three times.
Currently, the name of the group is remained with "HightLight".
In my opinion, many kpop fans may remember this group as "Beast" than "Hightlight" (or) "B2ST" because they are the most famous in Beast era which is from 2009 to 2016.From 2016 to 2026, they are still releasing music albums, but they are not as famous as Beast era. Changing group name and some members leaving from the group hurts the popularity of the group.
Beast debuted in 2009 with six members, yoon doo-joon, yang yo-seob, lee gi-kwang, son dong-woon, jang hyun-seung and yong jun hyung. They have significant commercial success and achieved many kpop awards. The group may not be top-tier group, but the group is still one of the popular groups from second generation. Their famous songs are fiction, shock, good luck and plz don't be sad.
In 2016 and 2019, jang hyun-seung and yong jun-hyung left the group respectively to pursue their solo careers. Currently, the remaining four members are continued to do the group activities with hightlight name.
