Setting Sun And Rising Moon: Vivo X200 Ultra As A Photography Kit

For a couple of weeks, I have been using my new mobile device, which is a good camera phone and sometimes ai feel it can take some great photos that very few mobile devices can do. As a flagship phone, Vivo X200 Ultra has one of the best camera sets not in its quality, but also has the biggest camera island on any phone. The best thing that I can say it is a phone that will take a photo and give you the ready-made image that you can directly use in your social sites or for any further use without any need for post photo editing issues for more than 80-90% time. For colour preferences, it has several photo-taking modes including vivid, B/W, night breeze, texture, macarons, grapefruit and so on. Most of the time, I use the Zeiss Natural colour mode that reflects the original colour profile.

The excellent outputs from the camera are a great thing for you, and it is quite handy to use the photo just after you click. But the output is not so easy for a phone, and Vivo has introduced two extra chipsets for its camera that do the processing and some other stuff: the vivo V3+ ISP chip for image processing, and the new vivo VS1 platform, which maintains the exposure, focus, and image stacking for the camera. I am not going to talk about more details on that as I am not writing the camera review, but share my day-to-day experience and some shortcomings that I faced with the artificial intelligence that often makes the image an image from an alien world. But that also has some good use cases; avoiding such a thing is quite easy for the camera also.

The first noticeable thing that I can mention is that it has a great light-handling capability compared to many other flagship mobiles. I have taken many photos direct into the sunlight in the afternoon when I can focus manually, rather than during noon, when it is very dangerous to look at the sun. And I have also taken some pictures of the moon, both at night and during the day when the moon rises, and all the pictures are so good compared to my old Samsung Galaxy.

The photography was quite fun as it takes up to 50 seconds to take some night shots, and the pictures are really astonishing. It is truly a great device that takes better views than my normal eyes. This is really a great improvement in the camera that surpasses our eyes in many cases. Also, the optical stabilisation is awesome in this upgraded version as the pro version has some stability lacking than this ultra model. I have taken some photos for around 2 seconds with my hand, which was also a successful shot, that is incredible stabilization.

The zooming capability of the phone is also at its peak, thou it can support up to 85 mm optical zoom, which is equivalent to 3.74 X, but it is one of the best phones for zooming photos. The top zooming capability on Oppo Fine 8x Ultra is with the 135 mm zoom equivalent to 6x optical zoom. But Vivo is also very competitive in this area, especially in low-light photography. It provides excellent photos with much noise, like other flagships like Xiaomi, Apple and Samsung. Furthermore, it has an external zooming lens developed by Vivo and Zeiss, which is a 200 mm capability without any loss in the image. This is really a great configuration, like wildlife photography with the phone. Though I have not got the external lens, I will buy it when it is on sale and I will let you know its capabilities.

Now, lets talk about some drawbacks or what I don’t like in the camera and that is the excessive AI editing when you take a photo with excessive zoom more than 50x. Though at this level of zoom the photos are already degraded with real quality but I still prefer the original view and I can edit that later to maintain the authenticity. And the issue with the moon replacement by the AI in the photo. I found the fake moon creation like other phones at night when I use more zoom photo. And it is very clear in some photos that the moon is not the original.

I hope you like my discussion on my new camera device and some of the most difficult lighting photography during the evening and night with the device. These photos are still beautiful, and some of them are really up to the professional grade for such a situation. Though there is some extra editing in some cases, there is no better option at this price level for a camera to take such photos. If you have any queries, let me know in the comments, and I will try my best to answer them as much as I can afford.

Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch up with you at the next one.

Wishing you a good day!

I took all the photos, and these are my own property.
