Sunset behind cables (Qurator Photo Quest: Cables or Wires)

Hi there, today I would like to share with you some photos I took on a trip to the desert while on holiday in Dubai with my family. We took part in a desert trip which included dinner at a desert campsite. The programme for the trip stated that we would have the opportunity to photograph the sunset, which I was very much looking forward to. When we arrived at the campsite, we were escorted to the best spot in the area to photograph the sunset .

This is my entry photo for the Qurator Photo Quest: Cables or Wires

Sometimes the reality is different from what we expect, so I'm trying to stick to the rule that if you don't expect anything, you can't be disappointed, but I was a little bit disappointed at that time. In my mind, I've pictured a different scenery for the desert sunset: a clichรฉ of neverending dunes, sunbathed in the warm rays of the sunset, pure kitsch ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Instead, I got a sunset behind a power line. Despite my initial disappointment, I picked up my camera and quickly shot some photos, which you can see in this post.

And since it is better to look at the bright side of things, I selected these images as my entry post for the #Qurator Photo Quest: Cables or Wires.

Until next time!

Sorry it wasn't as expected for you, power lines always affect the landscape but great photos for this challenge, the sunset background I like.

There are moments when the paintings look like photographs and others when the photographs look like paintings in a museum and this is the case, really beautiful photographs!

Thanks for your words @naitreart!

I would have certainly expected like you, huge power towers and cables would have been the last thing I would have guessed for in a desert sunset...๐Ÿ˜… But they are nice photos nontheless! I guess the contrast adds to that..

It's really the last thing I expected. I don't mind these power cables in the desert at all, what bothers me is the unfortunate choice of the spot where they send us, naive tourists, to take pictures of the sunset. Thanks for stopping by!
