Where time stood still [EN/PT]

This church holds a deep symbolism in my life, something that brings back memories of my childhood. Being able to fly over it after so many years with my drone was a nostalgic feeling, but also a bit sad when seeing the condition it is in.

It is a very old church, perhaps one of the first in the region. I remember once my grandfather mentioned that it stopped operating when he was still a child, due to the difficulty of access, since there is still a river between the church and the town.

As a child, I used to go there sometimes. We would say it was haunted, but back then its roof was still intact. Now, after so much time, I realize that time can be harsh, but it is also impressive to see the power of nature embracing a structure created by man. How much longer will it stand there?

Well, on that day I had visited my mother in my hometown, and my drone was having trouble recognizing the memory card. A shame, as it slightly reduced the quality of the photos, since the storage ended up being on my phone. Even so, it was good to go back there and take these photos, maybe two years since the last time.

Essa igreja possui um simbolismo na minha vida, algo que remete a lembranças da minha infância. Poder sobrevoá-la depois de tanto tempo com meu drone foi uma sensação nostálgica, mas também um pouco triste ao ver o estado em que ela se encontra.

É uma igreja muito antiga, talvez uma das primeiras da região. Lembro-me de uma vez em que meu avô mencionou que ela parou de funcionar ainda quando ele era criança, devido à dificuldade de acesso, já que ainda existe um rio entre a igreja e a cidade.

Quando criança, eu costumava ir até lá às vezes. Dizíamos que ela era mal-assombrada, mas naquela época seu telhado ainda estava inteiro. Agora, depois de tanto tempo, percebo que o tempo às vezes castiga, mas também impressiona pelo poder da natureza, abraçando uma obra criada pelo homem. Por mais quanto tempo ela se sustentará ali?

Bem, nesse dia eu tinha visitado minha mãe, lá na minha cidade natal, e meu drone estava com problemas para reconhecer o cartão de memória. Uma pena, pois isso diminuiu um pouco a qualidade das fotos, já que o armazenamento foi feito no meu celular. Ainda assim, foi bom poder voltar ali para tirar essas fotos, talvez dois anos desde a última vez.
