Here we go again... We haul out.

It has been four months since we took the boat out of the water. Why?

Firstly, we have milky oil in our sail drive, which indicates that oil has mixed with salt water, creating milky oil. What does this mean? Well, this is bad and clearly shows that we have a leak in our sail drive, where the propeller is.

A short explanation for non-sailors: What is a sail drive?
A sail drive is a boat engine system with a sealed unit that goes through the hull and connects to the propeller underwater.

Now, that’s just the first problem we had...

Second problem:
On our port side (the left side of the boat), we had salt water coming through our rudder through-hull. It wasn’t too much water, but we had to pump the bilge about three times a day, which was very annoying—sometimes requiring us to get up in the middle of the night.

Well, that’s basically all the major fixes we needed to do. Obviously, there are still small projects, but they’re not as major.

Well, let’s get to it:

There position our boat right where the slings need to go - and after some adjustments they lift the boat up.

They then bring the boat forward and stop to check everything - after checking all the props and we did see some minor damages on our rudders as we had hit many logs.

After pressure washing/water blasting our boat they move the boat to a spot where we will stay for a few days.
