Where snowy peaks touch the sky
During my ski holiday last week in Kals am Großglockner, I captured a series of images that reflect the beauty of this area.
Kals lies in East Tyrol, at the foot of Austria’s highest mountain, the majestic Großglockner (3,798 m). With around 1,100 inhabitants, it remains one of the more peaceful ski destinations in the Alps.
We had some nice days with blue skies which contrast beautifullly with the white peaks of the mountains.
On the ski slopes I had some nice see-thoughs on the mountain peaks too.
From the mountain slopes, you can look down on the small village, covered in snow.

We had some ovecast days with a lot of fresh snow, but also some clear blue skies.

The place is awesome and the images are stunning . Images likes this proves that AI cannot replace creative photography. I wonder if that cross on the fountain symbolizes something ?

Beautiful. I've been reading about some terrible disasters and deaths in Europe's alps this year. Quite a few Aussies have died in Japan as well during the season. Your photos give lie to the dangers, and celebrate the beauty of the mountains in winte r- a story I'd much rather read.

And yes,avalanches have already taken many lives this year. There was a lot of new snow and that brings risks. Especially when people leave the prepared slopes.
Mountains are beautiful, but can certainly be dangerous too.
Never been there, but its a zone (Alpes) I visited many times across other places (mostly Italy, but Swiss places too). Haven't been on the Austrian side unfortunately, yet.

I've visited the French and the Swiss alpes only in summer. In winter it has always been Austria.
Yes, we had some sun and I did have some lunch in the sun two times, but I'm there to go skiing, which I have done a lot, so not much tan 😀
