It is October, but the temperature still was around 20 degrees Celsius today. That is not very common this time of the year. But since it was a nice and sunny day, we decided to go for a walk on the beach. For us it's 'just' 20 minutes by car and the beach somehow never gets boring.
As we had expected it was quite busy at the beach. We were not the only ones to tank some vitamin D for upcoming fall and winter 😀
At one spot at the beach two seals were also sunbathing on the coast line. I've been living in this area my whole life and we never had seals around here up a year ago. Now we have a few laying at this particular spot quite often. Since people came quite close to them to take photographs they have now put a fence around it. Although it now looks more like a zoo, they are wild seals.

The sea was rather calm. It's the North Sea and not an ocean, so we never really have huge waves. The water temperature should still be quite fine. We've seen some people in the water.

There were also a lot of stranded jellyfish at the beach today. We've seen hundreds of them. Mostly white ones, but also some vibrant blue ones. The one below was the biggest one we found. It had a diameter of about 20 centimeters. We see more of them now because the warm sea water makes them reproduce faster. And there is also more food.

After our walk we treated ourselves with a drink at one of the beach pavilions that are still open.
Some of the pavilions are only open during the season and get dismantled and removed after the season, but a few stay open all year. I do think they will remove the beach beds and parasols soon.

I hope you enjoyed this short photo tour of our afternoon walk at the beach. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment below.

It's so nice to have a sea within driving distance. We don't go there every Sunday. We sometimes go for a walk in the dunes or a forest too.

Oh man those are some memories that will hopefully keep you warm in the middle of the long winter.
Seems to me, no matter you are on an ocean, sea, or Great Lake in this instant, the beach is never boring and is a substantial connect to nature.
You're totally right about that.
That horizontal tree makes this an interesting photo 😀
I never imagined Netherlands to be like the last image, it's so un Netherlands in my mind
Haha. It isn't. That's why I liked this shot 😉
In recent years, more beach clubs have become themed. Some have 'Ibiza vibes', one is surf-themed and we also have an African-style one called Sand-C-Bar.
Sand C Bar!!! That's a brilliant name!!

Nice. :) We (me and my wife) were also most of the day outside.
