The weekly Qurator Photo Quest often inspires me to dig into my photo archive. As you might already know I've been photographing over 25 years and have quite a big archive.
It's fun looking in your archive to see if you have something you can send in for the Qurator Photo Quest. And as often, I've found quite a few photographs that match the subject: SILHOUETTES
But having more options also makes it difficult to choose which one I find the best. Finally I've chosen the one below for the contest. It's a photograph of a fisherman at the beach. It's a beach 15 minutes away from here by car, so I incidentally drive there to capture the sunset.
This one time there was a fisherman at the shore. The setting sun drew a cool silhouette of him. I liked the fact that the sun in the background almost touched the water and painted the sky in beautiful orange colors.

The following photo is a more recent one. I've taken this one in the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao. There was an exposition room with a bright lamp where you could shoot silhouettes. In fact you could make your own art this way. The model in this case is my oldest daughter.

And in the following shot that same daughter is the model again. We were playing at the beach during sunset when I had the idea to make her do some tricks in front of the sun. I thought it was a cool effect.

The following shot was taken during the so-called blue hour. This is the hour after sunset. We were on a campsite in Sweden and I was making a walk alongside the lake when I spotted this couple that just had witnessed the sunset on the pier. I found it quite a romantic view.

'
And the last one is also taken on a holiday trip. This is a shot made from a boat in Botswana. The giant orange sun was setting and disappeared behind some trees, showing their beautiful silhouttes.

Thanks for checking out my blog. Do you agree with my choice for the contest or do you like another photo better?
Let me know in the comments!
