Playing with light

Playing with light

After a few gloomy days in the beginning of this week we're having a quite nice and sunny day today. So I decided to go out for a walk. The sun is very low this time of the year which allowed me to play a little bit with the light.

First I came across this electricity house. Normally these are quite boring gray, but this one is painted by an artist. I really liked the way the sun highlights the already bright colors.

I like playing with the sun in my photos. I love creating lens flares and rays of sunlight in a photo. I also like the long shadows the low sun is producing.

The rays of sun that peak through the leaves make the light nice and diffuse. That results in nice and soft light which can make ordinary objects like this tree trunk look nice (at least, for me :D).

I don't know how I managed to create the following effect. I liked the light highlighting some of the leaves and when I was framing the shot suddenly this ring appeared in the lower left corner.

And here is the last shot I took with the nice long shadows....

[EDIT]
Thanks to a tip of @dimascastillo90 I've converted this last photo in black & white which makes it even look cooler. Thanks!

Found it! Funny that we both posted about the same subject in one week but - can you ever have enough sun rays and lens flares? Well, I guess you could if they destroy a picture.

Yours are nice, I especially like the fourth picture. But the light playing on the colorful electrics house is also great.

Yes, indeed funny! The same, but totally different 😀

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Such a great place to play with light and shadows. An environment where you can compose images as textures as well. Black and white could look great there. Nice shots @friendlymoose 📸🔥

I sometimes convert architecture images to B&W, but I hardly convert nature shots to B&W. Good tip!

You're right. It works out nicely for this one :)

Awesome shots, at first when I started back up I really didn't like the lens flares but as I kept shooting and as well got some good ones, my tasted has change and I actually enjoy them when I get good ones.

You sometimes have to move around a bit to get a nice lens flare indeed 😃

I think that the technical aspect is important in photography, but there are some that don't take any of this into account and only transmit emotions.
Of course to do this you have to master the technique. It's one of the best lessons I had in my photography classes.
I feel that this forest and the light you have captured in it conveys your desire for the day to get better. It conveys happiness.

You had photography lessons, how nice! I've done an online course once which really helped me with some techniques and composition.

Thanks!

I had a great professor at college. I studied journalism.

Yes, I'll join the discord, although I'm not very active there. I saw you mentioned me, thank you 😃, but you saw that I was a bit busy yesterday. 😅

indeed the BW image was perfectly chosen and converted.

Looks much more interesting for me. Somehow this classic look is adding some more drama

Thanks for the mention, it's great to contribute some suggestions and I'm glad you took it into account. The photo is great in itself in both versions :)

You are very great, friend, in one image you managed to create three topics, natural beauty, shadow and light. Really cool👍💥

A beautiful place with cool light
I love when they have an artist painted by spots like that

I also like the sun's rays coming behind a cloud just like in your images it comes through the leaves.
