Well this was quite a difficult subject for the @qurator photo quest.
I don't frequently make photographs of chairs. When doing a search through my photo archive I was presented many photos of chairs, but the majority of it were snapshots of chairs in furniture shops, we took at the time we were looking for new chairs for our dinner table 😂
Not really something to send in for this contest...
But during a walk this week, I was triggered by a scenery I noticed in a nearby park. The park surrounds an old castle and in the park there are some more old buildings like stables and a chapel.
The castle is a conference center, the stables are turned into a restaurant and the chapel is recently renovated and turned into a bed and breakfast.
It really looks like a lovely place to stay.... and ....they have a nice seat in the back with a small table and chairs. The leaves gave me a nice natural frame for this scene.

Among the many photos of chairs in shops and random people on a chair I did find some more interesting chairs in my archive. The following picture was taken in a château in France last summer. The château's interior is beautifully preserved. The furniture are in the Louis XVI-style, probable from the late 18th century.

The outside of the castle was a bit sober, but nice. In the Loire Valley where we resided, there are quite a lot of castles and some are more beautiful than this.
But the interior and the garden of this château was really nice.

Another shot I found with chairs on it was this one of a church in Dijon, France. It's more common to see wooden benches in churches, but this church in Dijon had hundreds of chairs. They don't really seem comfortable to sit on for a long time. On the other hand, neither do wooden benches 😂

I hope you liked the selection of photographs I shared. Feel free to leave your comments below.
