A sunny walk in the park

Normally I make walks in our neighborhood quite often, but in the past weeks I have been away for a week and I also have been going to to office frequently.
And as I do my neighborhood walks mostly during my lunch break it has been a while since I visited the local parks.

And that I hadn't been there for a while was noticable! Things have turned a lot greener since I visited the park last time. The forest floor was covered in wild garlic. You can really smell the strong scent when you walk through the park. I don't necessarily like the smell, but the view with the tiny white flowers is beautiful.

It was a nice and sunny day. Last time I went here I could still see the sky, but at the moment the park has a nice and green ceiling. This is why I really like to go here on hot summer days. The leaves keep the warmth away from the ground. We really need more trees in our urban environments. Especially because we will be getting more heat waves in the future.

There is a nice path going through the park. It isn't very big, but you can walk a couple of different routes.
Usually around noon its very nice and quiet.

In a more open space in the park there are a couple of nice big rhododendrons. I have a small one myself in our backyard which has white flowers, but these all have these purple/pink flowers. Really lovely.

And here are the flowers in close-up. You can clearly see the nice pattern on the leaves in this shot. There were quite a lot of bees humming around these bushes, collecting the nectar.
I know they have some bee hives somewhere in the corner of this park. I really need to find out if they make and sell the local honey too. That would be really cool.

There is also some water in the park. It's cool to play with the reflections. It looks like there are even more trees with their reflections in the water.

On my walk back home I came across this interesting tree. It's a white poplar, a tree that spreads 'seed fluff' in spring. It almost looks like it had been snowing.

I'm glad I don't suffer from hay fever, because that wouldn't have been fun during this walk.

I hope you enjoyed my #wednesdaywal (although it was on a Thursday).

I remember that "spring snow" from the white poplar when I would go fishing on the Danube! There were many trees on the shore, and because of that, the Danube would turn white!
The park where you took your walk looks fantastic! Except for the water pond, it reminds me of the park in Hamburg, where I was walking to the airport last year!

Thanks for sharing these fantastic photos!

It is amazing how much fluff comes off those trees.
Thanks for visiting my blog!

It's really nice to be able to walk around in a place as beautiful as this. Small flowers that refresh the eyes, towering trees make the atmosphere cool.

It's lovely indeed. Great for a short walk to clear your mind a bit.

Ahh these garlic photos are nice, but I was disturbed by the smell. They smell very pungent and I don't like that haha.

Yes, it is quite a peculiar smell. I also don't really like it.

What a refreshing spring walk ... I can just smell the trees, the flowers, and the garlic!

A word about the local honey: if your beekeepers are wise, they will not keep bees near that rhododendron bush, or around their azalea cousins ... while the bees love the flower, and the nectar is quite sweet, it is also poisonous to humans, and rhododendron honey is the most common way humans die from it, all the way back to the army of Pompey!

Oh, I really didn't know that about rhododendron honey 🤯

Delicious, and DEADLY ... one spring I was taking a walk in the park the day after a rain, and tall rhododendron bushes were literally raining nectar on me. It was quite sweet, and I wondered the same thing you did about honey ... but then looked it up. NOPE.

It's such an amazing experience to share. Attimes, when it seems like you have gotten to a place for a long term or just a short while. There used to seems like a major change has happened. Yours was actually a better experience as you seem to enjoy your walk through the park.

Wild garlic flowers! 🌼 Sounds like a great way to recharge before the next race. 🐎

The wild garlic and the lint tree were very new things for me that I learnt on this walk, thank you.

Very nice pictures! And it feels fresh... yes it is necessary to plant many many trees. In the whole world.

Greetings!
