The Calm That Comes With Choosing Less. Kiss Blog Ideas Week #210

So I didn’t always understand this idea that less choice can actually bring someone more peace, see yeah.... It sounded a bit strange at first time , why ? because normally you would think that having more options would mean that more freedom, more enjoyment, more everything, But here's the truth because as time goes on, I have come to actually realize that sometimes too many choices can actually really stress you out for real.

For me having less choices actually makes my life easier , because see yeah, I can pay attention to what is really important, and my mind does not get confused when I have things to think about, when there are too many things to choose from, then I start to think too much, I can ask myself things like "What if I make a bad choice?" or "Is there something better that I do not know about?" , then that just makes something simple becomes a big problem in my head, so yeah having less choice means I have fewer things to worry about and that brings me more peace in a way, less choice means peace, for the things that really matter to me.

I have noticed this even in the small thing, Something as basic as deciding what to eat can just become so stressful when there are too many options, you open your phone and scroll through different places, compare prices, check reviews, and at the end of the day, you are just tired, but when there are fewer options, it is easier, you just pick, move on, and your mind is free and the same thing applies to bigger parts of life too.

When you are trying to do too many things at once, chasing different goals, trying to please everyone, or keeping up with what others are doing, your energy becomes scattered, You are physically present, but mentally, you are everywhere, abd that kind of lifestyle can drain you without you even realizing it.

When you cut down on your options , things starts to make sense, you know what you are about , you know what's important to you and you are not always getting sidetracked.

So it is like your mind has room to relax and you are not in a hurry, you're not doubting your every choice, You just move with peace and purpose.

Another thing I have realized is that too many choices can make you less satisfied, even after making a decision, you might still be thinking about the other options you didn’t choose, that small doubt can take away your peace, but when your choices are limited, you are more likely to be content with what you have because your mind isn’t busy comparing.

Choosing less is also a form of discipline, It means you’ are intentionally deciding not to carry unnecessary things, whether it is options, opinions, or even expectations, and honestly, that kind of simplicity makes life feel lighter.

At this point I am trying to make things simple for myself, everything does not need options, I do not always have to think about everything at once, Sometimes I find peace, in choosing one thing and sticking to it and giving my mind a rest.

So having less choices does not mean I have less freedom like people like to think, for me it actually feels like I have more control, more clarity and most importantly more peace.

It is nice to choose one thing and stick with it, like I do feel more in control that way.
