Is Simplicity Really The Shortcut To Truth? _ Kiss Blog Ideas Week 214.

(edited)

This question is actually one of those things that will sit down with you and start arguing back quietly in your head.

Is simplicity the route to truth?

My first reaction is to say yes…. Then immediately say no… and then I am not so sure , I just feel confused and yeah i'm okay with that.

Because on one hand simplicity does truly feel like truth, when something is real it doesn't need to be fancy, it is just there.

Like when someone truly likes you, you do not need a 10 pages explanation, you see it in the small things, the way they remember your random stories, the way they check on you without being asked to, there's no big grammar, no long speech, just simple actions, and somehow, it feels more honest than anything complicated.

In everyday life, simplicity often feels like clarity, when a problem is explained in a straight forward way , I feel relaxed, I'm not trying to figure it out, it feels like "Ahh this makes sense.”

Life isn't always that easy.

Because truth, real truth sometimes hides in complicated situations, If you oversimplify it too much you might lose parts of it in a way.

For example think about people,
You can't just say someone is good or bad, because you know people are complex, someone can be kind but still be selfish sometimes, someone can love you but they can still hurt you without meaning to do it, If you try to force simplicity you might end up lying to yourself.

So now I start thinking… maybe simplicity is not always the shortest route to truth, maybe it is just the most comfortable route.

Because complicated truths are tiring, yeah ... they make you think deeply, they make you say, "Wait… so it is not just this one thing?" Nobody really likes that feeling, especially when it involves emotions, relationships or big decisions.

But at same time complexity without simplicity can also make it hard to find the truth, If everything is overcomplicated, you may never get the truth and you might get lost.

So maybe simplicity is not the destination but the doorway

You start with understanding just enough to get started, then you go deeper when needed, then you come back, and Simplify what you have learned so it can makes sense.

So it is like trying to explain life to someone, and If you start using too many big grammes, see they might not understand what you are trying to say, but if you simplify things too much, you then risk sounding like you are ignoring the real depth of the matter.

So maybe the real answer is this,

Simplicity can lead you to truth, but it does not always finish the journey in any way , and truth itself is not always simple yeah, even if it eventually wants to be understood in simple ways.

But then , In the end I think truth and simplicity are, like friends that work together, sometimes they are clear, sometimes they are complicated, they are always trying to find a balance where things make sense and are real.

Honestly… that balance feels like the most honest place to be.

You are right on point because it's a two way street depending on who you are explaining to, and just as you have said can give a pathway to truth, but in most cases one will have to walk through a bit of complexity before one can finally have the honest understanding of what is on the other side. And it's always good to always know when to go very deep and when we should just simplify it the way it's
