A simple minimalist life for me is not all about having less stuff but more about the peace I feel inside every single day with what I already own.
It's more about less worries on trends and appearance, I can comfortably put on quality versatile thrift wear repeatedly without bothering about “people say”.
I don't like makeup because it makes me uncomfortable and I love my natural self, it is my confidence. I remember attending a wedding where I was among the bridesmaids, everyone was to put on make-up as the braid wishes even though I never liked make-up I accepted but I was uncomfortable and also worried that the foundation was breaking because I was sweating. Every now and then I kept looking into the mirror, within me I felt I wasn't going to look good in the picture, because of how worried I was I became tensed and stressed, I lost my confidence, I was always looking downward. As soon as they were done with service I quickly walked out to a nearby store. I bought satchet water and a face towel, I washed off the makeup and cleaned up my face and that was when my face breathed and I regained my self-confidence. I felt relieved and that was how I stood for the picture, putting on a big, expensive and confident smile. Looking simple is everything to me.
I prefer dotted earrings because it's more comfortable for me and I don't have to change it plus it goes with all my outfits.
I enjoy making my own meals, there is this joy that comes while eating what you've prepared because you alone know what is in your meal and it is mostly natural ingredients which are healthy. "We are what we eat" I value my health so much— if I am healthy, I will be happy and wealthy at the same time.
Having a less chaotic life is one of my top priorities and that is why I choose relationships that bring me peace, light and positivity. Friends who are negatively impacted have taught me that not all friendships would survive, especially when you have embraced a simple life. I let go of those friends who always find joy in draining my joy. I have few friends who encourage growth and simplicity, not drama or competition as some would.
You can see me put on a pair of shoes several times, because they are very comfortable and I find joy in putting them on. Meanwhile, someone is hating me for it but that no longer bothers me because I have placed my comfort, happiness and self-confidence as my guide in all my choices and that is all that matters to me.
Peace, comfort, confidence, and gratitude are how I achieve a simple minimalist lifestyle and they eliminate chaos, comparison, excessive possessions, trends, discomfort and also dramas.

Before, I used to think makeup was what made someone beautiful, but about three years ago, I lost interest in it. Up till now, I haven’t applied any on my face, and I feel completely fine with that. Loving your natural self really does bring peace and confidence.
