The Urge To Live Large

There are times when I wish I could just cut free from my way of life. I can't tell how much impact it has made on my existence. I read an update from a friend of mine recently who said;

“Are you making progress? Or just revolving around the same circle”

It took me some time to sit back and digest the phrase. I checked myself, my life, my existence, my purpose, for real? Have I been making progress in any form or am I just content with the less that comes my way?

A few days ago while I was out to get some feed for my fish, it had been a stressful morning routine for me because the work I had to embark on that very day was just like it got multiplied from the normal. I am used to it though. I just have to put in a little more effort and get over it.

I was done and then headed over to the store to get the feeds. While I was buying my feed, I sighted someone from a distance. Ooh. It's an old classmate of mine. It's been over a decade since we saw each other. I embraced him with love and he replicated the same.

The smile on our faces was so bright, we didn't have much time to waste as we just made a quick conversation of how our lives have been. I told him I was into fish farming for over two years now and he also said the same but he is still a beginner in the business.

He got his feed and asked me for my directions. I thought we were going to board a vehicle together, but he came in his car! Wow! I hid my joy deep within me and tried to maintain my composure, so I wouldn’t act in a manner that wouldn't look pleasing to him. He is indeed a big man now.

I don't know what he had been into before he started fish farming. All I could do was just hope it got better for him on his end and I got mine too. He dropped me at a junction close to my residence and I headed home on a tricycle.

After all, I can't even drive a car and talk less of buying one now. Only if I had a car, it would have been less stressful for me to get feedstuff for my fish. I can buy a couple of feeds, stock them in the trunk of the vehicle, and drive home with ease. Compared to the stress I have to pass through going to and fro, packing up the bags of feed one after the other, and then getting a vehicle for chatter that will take me to the next bus stop before I can take another to my farm.

This is not a process I can rush. There are other things I have to put into consideration before I can even think of stepping up in some aspects of my life. It's not really about living big or flashy, but it's all about living in comfort even if it tends to appear less than expected.

This had been a way I tried to drive myself towards appreciating the less and living on. I also have plans to grow my business to another level, just the same way I have my bills piling up and increasing as each day passes by. The fun fact about life is that we anticipate a more easier life than the one we had in the past, but in the end, it turns out to be even tougher. But the real deal is once it's over it appears to be easy.

It's all about living the best lifestyle at your discretion. I don't think there is any way you can get forced to live out your lifestyle. In the same way, I have those living way better than I do, there are also some people below me trying to live just the way I do. It’s crystal clear that we get our lives to live in a way that seems to give us peace.
