Recently in the mail I got a very nice surprise from my good friend @bulliontools . Sometime back he put together a raffle with some silver items as the prizes to the winners. The tickets could be bought with Hive, and so I went ahead and purchased some tickets for the chance to win. Lo and behold, I came out the lucky winner of one of the prizes. One of the offered prizes was a Morgan silver dollar, so I jumped at the chance. I don't have my old coin photography setup assembled anymore so I just snapped a couple shots with the old cell phone! They aren't great but they could be worse...

Pretty isn't it? And I won it here on Hive! Thank you @bulliontools for the great raffle!
Moving on to the main purpose of today's post, since it's Tuesday and you already saw the header (and title) you know what's coming. So without further ado let's get started! But first off, I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze .

Cream was short lived band from 1966 to 1968, formed in London. The three man project included Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce, and Ginger Baker, and is often considered the first supergroup in rock history. They featured psychedelic rock mixed with hard rock and blues producing some of the most memorable songs of the late 1960's in their short run. The band was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 1993. An interesting fact for the curious, Eric Clapton is the only person to have ever been inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame three times, once as a solo artist, once as a member of Cream, and once as a member of The Yardbirds.
This song came off their third album Disraeli Gears and is called: "Sunshine of Your Love"

One of my favorite bands from the 1960's has always been The Doors. They formed in Los Angeles, California in 1965 with the iconic front man Jim Morrison. In 1967 they released their self titled debut album that launched them into fame. Over the next several years until 1971 they produced a total of six albums with Morrison that are considered some of the best in rock history. However, the good times came to an end when Morrison suddenly passed away in Paris, France on July 3, 1971. No cause of death was ever determined and no autopsy ever done, although a drug overdose has been suspected.
The band did try to carry on with a couple albums without Morrison but failed to do well, so they disbanded in 1973. But this song came off their debut and is called "Break On Through (To the Other Side)":

This band from San Diego, California formed in 1966. They had their years of biggest fame in the late sixties and had a blend of psychedelic, acid, and hard rock. Their biggest hit by far was one that led toward the development of hard rock and heavy metal, which may not have happened quite the same without it. This song is of course "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", a true classic. This is the single version for radio and television, versus the full version which ran some eighteen minutes in length!

That will wrap up this Three Tune Tuesday, I do hope you enjoyed it! Sometimes it's fun to do some music from way before my time, just like today. There was some great rock n' roll music from the 50's and 60's that often goes goes underappreciated. Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and as always thank you for all of your support. It's great appreciated! Have a great day everyone!
