Time Travelling Back to the 1970's for Some Great Rock N' Roll!

The last few weeks I have been sharing more female fronted rock bands, it's been a lot fun so far! But today I decided to take a break and share some fun music from way back in the 1970's. To be completely honest it was really before my time, but they're all songs I've come to love over the years. I think the 70's often get overlooked for the rock n' roll as disco was huge at the time. But there were no shortage of great rock bands during the decade.

But first off I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze .

Let's kick things off with one of my favorite bands, ZZ Top!

ZZ Top

This legendary Texas rock band formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas. They had a string of hits throughout the 1970's but really kicked their fame into high gear in the 1980's. But today I'm sticking with music from the 70's era. The song I'm sharing today is a really cool one that came off their third album Tres Hombres in 1973. Today's song is none other than "La Grange" performed live in 1982.

Black Sabbath

This legendary rock band has their origins in 1968 in Birmingham, England. Fronted by the late Ozzy Osbourne they were one of the biggest hard rock bands to come out of the UK. They had a great amount of success throughout the 1970's. Today's song comes off of their second album Paranoid, and the song is a classic that's you're all sure to know: "Iron Man"

AC/DC

Now we go to the land down under, this legendary rock band has been one of the most successful of all time. They formed in 1973 in Sydney and had a lot of success throughout the 70's. Their front man back then was Bon Scott and along with Angus and Malcolm Young they produced some great songs. However, in 1980 Scott suddenly died and was replaced by Brian Johnson. That was what launched them to superstardom with the release of the album Back In Black in 1980 fronted by Johnson.

But today since I'm doing 70's tunes, let's go back to 1975 with their second album titled T.N.T., and the song carries the same name: "T.N.T."

That will wrap up this edition of Three Tune Tuesday, I do hope you enjoyed it! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and as always thank you for all of your support. It really means a lot to me. Have a great day everyone!

I guess I have never really listened to AC/DC closely enough to say if I could tell the difference between the two lead singers. That is to say, I knew there were two of them over time, but I don't think I would have been able to pick when the cut over happened.

They both have their strengths, but I think Brian Johnson really took them to a whole new level in 1980. They both had different singing styles, with Johnson being rougher which is what we're all used to now!

Indeed, a true blend of blues, hard rock, and metal. Still relevant today!

You sure did pick some good ones this week. I love me some Oz. Used to jam to the Paranoid album a great deal.
