Some Hard Rocking Van Halen for Three Tune Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope the week is going well for you so far. I've been busy the last couple of weeks, lots of unexpected work. It's not all bad, helps pay the extra bills. But it was meant to be part time, it's turning into full time... I'll have to start taking on fewer clients!

Weather is great here in Southern California, but it always is... One of the reasons I came here in the first place. If only if weren't so crowded and expensive... Filling the gas tank almost requires taking out a mortgage on the house anymore.

Since last time I did a more mellow Three Tune Tuesday, I decided it was time for some classic rock n' roll. Today I'm going with the legendary band Van Halen. Initially fronted by David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen on guitar, with Alex Van Halen on drums. In 1978 their debut album Van Halen was a breakout hit selling over ten million copies. Over the years Roth left the band in 1985 replaced by Sammy Hagar. Eventually Hagar left and Roth returned. The band finally disbanded on the death of Eddie Van Halen in 2020.

I always thought it was a shame they didn't continue on with Wolfgang Van Halen on guitar. He's Eddie's son and is just as good, if not better than his father. But they chose to call it a career. Here are a few of their great hits:

Hot For Teacher

In the year 1984 Van Halen released one of their best selling albums also titled 1984. It has sold in excess of ten million copies and is one of their most popular albums to date. Huge hit such as "Jump", "Panama", and MTV favorite "Hot For Teacher" were all on the production. Here's the original video for "Hot For Teacher":

This also comes from their sixth album 1984. This hit was in the Billboard top twenty for a long time after it's release. This is "Panama":

Beautiful Girls

This song comes from 1979 off the album Van Halen II, it topped the charts and number six and has sold over four million copies. It was their sophomore effort cementing them as solid rock stars. Hits "Dance the Night Away" and "Beautiful Girls" come from the effort. This is a unplugged version the band did in 2012 of "Beautiful Girls":
