This has been an odd week for me. I've been caught up in so many other projects that it's been hard to keep up with regular posting here on Hive. You might have noticed that on Tuesday instead of publishing my regular Three Tune Tuesday I ended up posting a Splinterlands post. It's just the way things worked out this week, but I haven't forgotten about the Tuesday event so I'll be publishing it a couple of days late this week.
For those of you who have been to Cleveland, Ohio you most likely have visited the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. That really is the biggest attraction in the city to be honest... Today the organization announced their nominees for induction into the class of 2026. To qualify an artist must have had 25 years pass since their debut album that meets certain sales criteria. This year they have nominated: Shakira, Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Billy Idol, Mariah Carey, Sade, The Black Crowes, P!NK, INXS, Melissa Ethridge, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Jeff Buckley, Lauren Hill, Luther Vandross, Wu-Tang Clan, and New Edition.
Today I decided to pick a few of my favorites from the list for my post for this TTT, posted two days late!
But first off I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze .

This English rock n' roll legend started his career in the London punk scene as lead singer of the band Generation X. Then in 1982 he released his debut solo album which was a big commercial success. He followed that up with Rebel Yell in 1983 and then throughout the decade kept pumping out the hits.
Today I chose one of my favorites from his catalog: "Rebel Yell":

Alright, I'll be the first to admit that I do share a lot of her music and she is one of my favorite artists from Latin America. In 1995 she first hit it big with her album Pies Delcalzos (Bare Feet), but in 2001 released her first English album Laundry Service which made her an international star. But before she became the blonde bombshell, she started out as a very pretty brunette from Colombia.
This song is called "Ojos Asi" (Eyes Like Yours):

And I couldn't resist slipping in some true metal legends, the metal gods of Iron Maiden. Fronted by Bruce Dickinson this heavy metal band formed in London in 1975. In 1980 they released their debut self titled album which became an instant success. They continued with the hits throughout most of the 80's! Today I chose to share a live version of a great song: "The Trooper"

That will do it for this Three Tune Tuesday posted a couple of day late. At least this way I got to see the Hall of Fame nominees before assembling it! I do have my personal favorites from the list that I would love to see inducted this year, obviously the three above and a few others. We'll find out in April who makes this year's cut.
Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and thanks for all of your support. I really do greatly appreciate it. Have a great day everyone!

Isn't it funny - and great - how #TTT shows such diversity of taste. Sometimes we collide, sometimes we don't! These three for me aren't faves at all, though I don't mind singing along to Rebel Yell if I hear it. A blast from the '80s and one of those songs that kinda even gets better with age in a way!
So I would have chosen Joy Division/New Order (I saw New Order about ten years ago - I found Peter Hook arrogant), Jeff Buckley (saw him live - Grace is absolutely one of the best albums from the '90s) and Wu Tang Clan.
I have always been a big New Order fan having grown up in the 80's. I hope they make it, they produced so much great music as Joy Division and then New Order. Too bad Peter Hook was so arrogant, people think they are more important than they are... Jeff Buckley I'm not as familiar with as I spent most of the 90's living in South American and the Caribbean. I missed out on a lot of the popular music of the age in English, but the Spanish ones I know well. That's how I first fell in love with the music of Shakira!
Wu Tang Clan is kind of the same situation, don't know them all that well... I've always loved Billy Idol's music though, and I am rooting for INXS as one of those great 80's bands.
Everyone has their own tastes I agree, I've become more an appreciator of heavy metal the older I've gotten for some reason! lol
I loved New Order too. Still do. I still have some on vinyl. And I was obsessed with Joy Division as a teenager (late '80s). INXS was always everyone's band fave at high school, but I never saw the appeal. Still, my mate and I were singing some of their songs the other day theatrically, much to my English husbands disbelief.
And to look back on him now - what a spunk. Back then we didn't like to like the mainstream popular bands as were busy being alternative. Turns out we absorbed INXS anyway.
He couldn't believe how we could remember all the lyrics - such was the power of radio at the time I guess. I do love some of their songs now, probably because of nostalgia!!

That's quite the class. I'm happy to see P!nk in there. I just picked up tickets to see the Black Crowes this summer. I am super pumped about that.
Billy Idol is a solid selection all.. I could do without Shikira.. Ion Maiden was too loud and obnoxious for my taste, but they definitely deserve a spot in the HoF.. most of those artists do... still though.. NOT Shakira 😆
