Rock N' Roll from the 1990's for this Three Tune Tuesday

Last week I shared some great rock n' roll tunes from the 1980's, and the week prior was the 1970's. So next stop can only be the 1990's! Maybe next week we'll continue into the 2000's just to keep the fun alive.

I've been sharing Silver Strike tokens from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino over the last few weeks. The Casino went out of business years ago so these are all very collectible. The commemorative tokens were made of real silver and could be won by playing certain slot machines throughout the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and cruise ships once upon a time. The machines now are also becoming a rarity as fewer casinos carry them.

These tokens contain 0.6 Troy ounces of pure silver surrounded by a brass ring. Now that they aren't available as the casino has long since shut down, they are becoming harder to find at a good price. Right now this one is priced at $49.99, so really not too bad a price. However, I believe I already own one of these, although I couldn't find my pictures. I thought it was nice that the Hard Rock payed tribute to classic guitars while they were still in business though. This one had the Rickenbacker, a classic electric guitar used by Paul McCartney and John Fogerty.

Metallica

Formed in 1981 this legendary hard rock band picked up a following quickly among heavy metal fans. However, they became superstars with the "Black" album released in 1991. The have been inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame and continue to be a popular touring band until this day. This came of the Black album and is called: "Enter Sandman"

The Offspring

Formed in 1984 in Garden Grove, Orange County, California, not too far from where I live. It took them ten years to finally break into mainstream success with their album Smash. This song comes off that album and is called: "Self Esteem"

Foo Fighters

Formed in 1994 following the death of Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl took to vocals and guitar and created another legendary rock band. This song wasn't really from the 1990's, but the early 2000's, but still pretty close! This is: "All My Life"
