Rock N' Roll from the 1970's for this Three Tune Tuesday

Happy Tuesday everyone! That can mean only one thing as far as my post goes today, Three Tune Tuesday. I've been participating in the event for several years and I've really enjoyed it. Today I decided it might be fun to do some classic rock n' roll from the 1970's, a great decade in heavy metal.

But first, I wanted to share another silver token I have on my wish list. I've been trying for years to pick up an entire set of all of the Silver Strike tokens produced by the defunct Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. These were silver tokens that could won by playing certain slot machines in the casino. They were common in most casinos in the US, Canada, the Caribbean, and cruise ships once upon a time. Very few casinos still have them.

This I found on eBay for $55, a little more than I want to pay, but I like the token:

These tokens contain 0.6 Troy ounces of pure silver surrounded by a brass ring. Now that they aren't available as the casino has long since shut down, they are becoming harder to find at a good price. I'll keep shopping around, I may get lucky yet and pick up all the ones I'm missing!

Black Sabbath

Formed in 1968 originally as The Polka Tulk Blues Band, this heavy metal band soon realized they needed a better band name. They like the occult sound of Black Sabbath, and that's when their careers took off. With Ozzy Osbourne on lead vocals they became a huge success with the release of album Paranoid. This comes off the same album, a protest song to the Vietnam War, "War Pigs":

KISS

This hard rock band was formed in New York City in 1973 and have gone on to become rock n' roll legends. Their distinctive outfits and demon makeup made them stand out, then the release of their album Alive! in 1975 made them one of the top bands in the US. It had a live version of "Rock and Roll All Night" that topped the charts.

AC/DC

This heavy metal band was also formed in 1973, but in Sydney, Australia. They quickly picked up a local following and by the end of the 70's were becoming solid international rock stars. Then came the death of lead singer Bon Scott in 1980 after a night of heavy drinking, and he was replaced by Brian Johnson. That's when they recorded the album Back In Black, and they became rock n' roll legends. But in 1976 they recorded "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" with Scott, and is to this day, a classic. Here's a live version with Brian Johnson as lead vocalist.
