I know I often complain about the crowds and prices here in southern California, and believe me they really are getting old. The one thing I can't complain about is the weather... It's yet another beautiful week that's not too hot and not too cold. It's absolute perfection, which is why I moved here in the first place. When I can find another state that fits the build weather wise I might consider moving, but then my son still lives here... Family does play into the equation as well! Although I am very tempted to head to Florida, I just need to convince him to make the move as well, which will be much easier said than done!
Lately I have been spending less time preparing posts on Tuesdays as I have prepared so many in advance that I have a huge list I can pick from and just finish up the writing. Today was one I chose out the archive, only to decide to change out all three artists this morning kind of on the spur of the moment. Sometimes spontaneity can be more fun than long laid out plans. So we shall see how this mish mash works out today, a winner or an absolute train wreck!
Since it is Tuesday it's time for another Three Tune Tuesday. But first off, I want to say thank you to @ablaze for starting and continuing to sponsor this fun weekly event where you can share three songs that you enjoy. One lucky participant will win some HSBI units, you can't have too many of those! So if you don't already participate feel free to jump in, just use the tag #ttt or #threetunetuesday and it's never a bad idea to do a shoutout to @ablaze .
Let's dive on into today's three songs!

I know what you're going to say, Nirvana was not fronted by a woman. However, the remaining living members of Nirvana have done limited reunion shows over the years. The last one was done back in 2025 during a fund raiser for those impacted by the fires north of Los Angeles. On this occasion Violet Grohl (Dave Grohl's oldest daughter) stood in for Kurt Cobain making a first big appearance musically. Dave is on drums just as he used to be back in the last days on Nirvana, so you get a father/daughter combo on this one. I think she did a pretty good job on this song, it's not an easy one to try to cover. Kurt's vocals really are irreplaceable, but she did a great job. This is "All Apologies":

Formed in New York City in 2009 this hard rock band is fronted by former actress turned rock star Taylor Momsen. They have had multiple chart topping hits over the years and a great band well worth checking out if you haven't heard their music. Momsen is picking up a bit of a reputation for her back luck on tours with AC/DC, several years ago while performing in Spain she was bitten by a bat and had to get rabies shots. This year wile touring with them in Mexico she was bitten by a venomous spider and ended up spending the night in the hospital. She performed the next night anyway! Talk about dedication!
This song is off their second album Going To Hell released in 2014 and is called "Heaven Knows":

This legendary rock band formed in Hereford, England in 1978 with American front woman Chrissie Hynde. Throughout the 1980's they produced multiple top charting hits and were inducted in the Rock Hall of Fame in 2005. However, it didn't come without a price. Two of the original band members died of drug related deaths in 1982 and 1983, which left a lasting impact on the remaining band members. Fame and money at a young age can cause a lot of stress, and far too many musicians of those days used heroine and cocaine to alleviate it...
This song came off their third album in 1984 called Learning to Crawl as they recovered from the tragic deaths. This song is "Back on the Chain Gang":

That will wrap up this Three Tune Tuesday of groups fronted by talented female singers. I do hope you enjoyed the selections, it's a very eclectic mix, but that was part of the fun! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below, and as always thank you so much for all of your support. It really is greatly appreciated! Have a great day everyone!

Qué sorpresa esa versión de Violet Grohl! Se nota que heredó mucho del talento de Dave. Es una forma increÃble de mantener vivo el legado de Nirvana.
What a surprise that version by Violet Grohl! You can tell she inherited a lot of Dave's talent. It's an incredible way to keep Nirvana's legacy alive.

The Pretenders are one of my all time favorites. I think they have a new album coming out soon or they just did a bit ago. I can't quite remember now, which is funny if I liked them as much as I say I do.
