I remember seeing a fluff big guitar at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas...
Some great music today!
The Icicle Works... Love Is a Wonderful Colour was a much bigger hit here for them in 83 I think, ironically the year I am on now in my TTT.
Mexican Radio you know I have been saying that all the way through this .. and yeah Monster does sound like a B52s song lol! Awesome tunes sir!
Back in the good old Vegas days. You wouldn't even recognize the city anymore, it changes so fast and so often. The Icicle Works were a great band, but I liked their later work that wasn't nearly as popular. Funny how one song can be big in one place and get no airplay on the other side of the pond, at least back in the ancient 80's! Way before the internet and YouTube..
Stan Ridgeway was a fun artist after Wall of Voodoo, but never really reached the same fame as the one song "Mexican Radio"! That song was a true on hit wonder for the band!
"Monster" does sound like it belongs right off a B-52's album, but it basically was was the band with Kate Pierson doing the backup vocals...
Glad you liked today's selections Ed! I appreciate it!
Places change and I am sure Las Vegas changes more than most to keep up with the times and grab that tourist dollar!
Great tunes they were, and have a great 4th of July Ryan!
